The underlying tracking architecture utilizes a heavy-duty moving-iron pointer mechanism. This classic electromagnetic engineering allows the instrument to natively measure true root-mean-square (RMS) alternating current up to a standard direct system baseline of 5A AC. For massive utility grids, industrial motor networks, or distribution lines, the KAA-96 interfaces directly with secondary lines coming out of standardized external Current Transformers (CT).
